Dear <<First Name>>,

I recently spent seven weeks at the DCC in Sri Lanka. It was a very exhausting and upsetting time. We were able to save lives every day, but at the same time we also had to say goodbye to beloved companions. The memory of the dog that was run over by a reckless driver right in front of our clinic remains particularly vivid. It breaks my heart to know that she was probably abandoned only a short time before, alone and helpless.

But in the midst of all this sadness, there were also numerous rays of hope. I'm thinking of Diona, for example, who survived the severe parvo virus and fought her way back to life with an unshakeable will. Or Luana, who never lost the will to live despite all the difficulties. It is moments like these that motivate us and show us that it is worth fighting for animals in need every single day. We have provided free medical care for countless pet owners in need and have made the world a little bit better for the dogs on the streets.

We receive zero support from the government, causing me to have sleepless nights worrying about financing the DCC. I am afraid that one day soon, we won't be able to admit any new dogs.
We get more and more calls from way outside our area due to other organisations not being able to or not wanting to help.
While typing these words, news of these poor puppies reached me. We lack the resources but of course we will admit the mother and her two babies; I cannot let them die!

It is your donations and your solidarity that give us the strength. Together we can work miracles. The last quarter was once again a great success thanks to your help!

We were able to carry out 4,488 vaccinations, 3,051 castrations, 21,501 treatments and 218 operations.

In the last three months, we have taken in 281 new patients.

Many of them are now with us permanently and are looking for their first sponsor.

Nicholas is still hoping for his first sponsor!

Nicholas was run over by a reckless driver and was left seriously injured. Our friends at Embark rescued him, but they didn't have enough space.

His paraplegia doesn't stop Nicholas. He wants to run, play and roam around. We are now making this possible for him.

We are urgently looking for many kind sponsors to provide Nicholas with long-term care and the happy life he deserves!

Bindu came to us seriously injured after being bitten by another dog. One of his eyes had to be amputated and unfortunately he is completely blind in the other.  When we informed his owners of the sad news, we were shocked. They didn't want their blind dog back and threatened to put him on a chain. It was heartbreaking to see how indifferent they were to Bindu - he was worthless to them.

But we are not giving up on Bindu. He will stay with us at the DCC in safety and security.

Still many long term residents dogs are also still looking for sponsors.

Is there really no one who wants to support Moritz?
Injured, alone, hopeless - this is how one of the DCC rescue teams found little Moritz as a puppy. He was barely able to move at the time and we feared that he would remain severely disabled forever. But with the right treatments and therapies, Moritz learned to walk again and we are incredibly proud of him! It would be so great if he could finally find his first sponsor!

As a DCC 50+ sponsor, you give hope to people and animals!

In our DCC50+ program, adult and disabled dogs find a loving home with elderly people in need. In Sri Lanka, many senior citizens live in extreme poverty and there is no functioning welfare system. Thanks to our support, these destitute families receive a monthly pension that enables them to care for the dogs. Dogs like Banana and Patsy have not only found a home, but also give the senior citizens comfort and joy in their everyday lives as well as financial security. It's a touching win-win situation that changes lives.

But Banana, Patsy and their foster mom are still eagerly waiting for a sponsor. Would you like to be their first sponsor?

Help German shepherd dog Mandy back to life!

German Shepherd dog Mandy was abandoned by her owner to die at the age of 9 years. We are now fighting for her life: she has a fungal infection, very advanced demodicosis, severe babesiosis and very low kidney values. She is also completely malnourished.

It will be a hard fight, but we are Mandy's only hope! Please help us to treat her, feed her, care for her and give her love! Only together we can make it!

Donate 22 Euros for one day treatments and care at DCC
Donate 11 Euro to cover Mandy's costs for half a day

Harper is pregnant and suffered severe burns. They were allegedly caused by the exhaust of a motorcycle. But the fact that it took two long weeks before we were told about her suffering makes us doubt this story. We took Harper to the clinic. An ultrasound scan brought the redemptive news: the unborn puppies are safe and well.

Harper is now in our intensive care unit, where she will soon give birth to her puppies.

Here you can support Harper and her babies
Is this the saddest case of neglect?

In this short video we tell the story of Rex, a loyal dog who suffered far too long from the neglect of his owner. When Rex finally came to us, he was already seriously ill - even though we offer free medical care!
We want to give him back the life he deserves!

Rex is not just another case in our clinic - he is a symbol for the many animals that depend on our and your help.

With your help we save lives daily!

German Shepherd dog Axel was deliberately doused with boiling water. He almost died from the terrible burns, but we were able to save him thanks to your support. Now only a scar reminds us of the devious attack.

You probably already know Luana's story. Our volunteer discovered mom Luana and baby Lilli on the side of the road in a catastrophic condition. We rescued them both from the road. Unfortunately, Lilli contracted parvovirus shortly afterwards and did not survive. Luana struggled greatly with the loss of her puppy, but she never lost her courage to face life. After weeks of intensive treatment, Luana is now healthy again and a happy DCC resident. You can find out more about her moving story HERE.

We rescued Diona in July when she was discovered on school grounds with a serious leg injury. One week after being admitted to the DCC, the big shock: Diona had caught the parvovirus! It was a race against time. We feared for her life. But she beat the virus. However, the all-clear was not given at first, because now little Diona also had babesiosis. Once again we had to fight for her, but she survived this illness too - isn't she a real fighter? Find out more about this little trooper HERE.

Did you know that we now neuter and vaccinate almost as many cats as we do dogs? In addition, more and more desperate cat owners turn to us for complicated procedures such as amputations and treatments, too.

We also carry out these treatments completely free of charge. If you not only love dogs, but also cats, you can donate an amount of your choice HERE. Thank you very much!

The long overdue renovation of our so-called “New Clinic Garden” is in full swing and our  long-term patients will soon be able to move back in.
