Surely, Akeem once had an owner. The desolate economic situation in the country then made him simply put his faithful companion on the street. As a former pet, the poor dog would not have found his way. In addition, Akeem suffered from a serious fungal infection. He was emaciated. Surely he had been neglected in his home for a long time.
We took Akeem in and want him to live under our protection for the rest of his life. The most likely solution was a placement is in our DCC 50+ program and thank to Akeem's sponsor he became a DC 50+ in March 2023. He now lives with a poor family who receive a pension in return for taking care of the dog. It is a win-win situation.
