Lara 2

Name: Lara 2
Breed: Mix
Gender: Female
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog for: 6 years
Description:

Completely haggard and with a tight cloth around her neck - that's how Lara was dumped in front of our clinic. Luckily, we found her in time as otherwise she would have probably choked to death.

In the clinic, we nursed the trusting female dog back to health and brought her to a normal weight. After just a few weeks, we were able to successfully place her in our DCC 50+ program. She lived here with two of our other dogs at the home of a poor elderly couple. In exchange for caring for our dogs, the seniors receive a monthly pension. The couple has no income, as the woman cares for her paralyzed husband.

Lara now had a loving home, and the needy retirees had a secure income.

Through unannounced visits, we monitored the living conditions monthly and made sure Lara was doing well.

After many happy years in her DCC 50+ family, we sadly had to say goodbye to Lara in January 2026. She developed a rapidly growing cancer in her mouth. But we are grateful that we were able to spend so many years with her.
