Uso

Name: Uso
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 11 years and 3 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 8 years and 9 months
Description:

We found Uso on one of our tours. He was suffering from Babesiosis and would have not survived without treatment. After successfully battling the sickness we were able to find a foster family through our rehome program. We visited Uso regularly.

In mid 2016 his eye began watering and itching much. The illness didn't respond to treatment and so eventually his eye had to be removed.

Since his family did not care about his condition and did not take Uso back after the surgery he now lives on our clinic compound.

As a grown up and disabled dog he has no chance to get adopted - except if we find many kind sponsors willing to finance a place in our social adoption scheme, the DCC 50+ program. In the DCC 50+ elder locals give a loving home to our dogs and receive a pension in return. There is no proper social system in Sri Lanka and thus the DCC pension is in many cases the only regular income for these families. All dogs are visited regularly by ou team and receive free medical care.

Every dog in the 50+ program costs the clinic approx. 70 Euro per month.

Please help us to provide a safe home for our Uso for his remaining life!
