Victoria, a purebred German Shepherd, was tied to a tree near the clinic. There was hardly a spot on her body without a wound.
As a German Shepherd, she was just another breed dog in Sri Lanka, bred without any sense or purpose and then sold for a high price — to owners who seemingly lost interest quickly and were overwhelmed by her care.
Victoria was now under our protection, and this spared her from a life as a breeding machine. Through long-term therapy, we treated her skin conditions, physical and psychological wounds, and were able to rehome her to a loving family just near the clinic.
Victoria was able to spend many beautiful years this way. Unfortunately, in November 2025, she suffered from acute kidney failure, and both we and her rehomed family had to say goodbye after all these years. We will never forget you, Victoria!
