Apparently, Sandy was hit by a reckless driver who disappeared after the accident. Sandy was left with a broken front leg and a fractured hind leg in the ditch where she was found by our <link 83#1141 - internal-link "Opens internal link in current window">animal vacation holidayers</link> Sandra and Christof Lühl. The tourists brought Sandy to the clinic where we examined and treated her. 

The broken leg was plastered and healed over the course of many weeks. However, Sandy will remain lightly handicapped and so we put her in our DCC 50+ program. The social adoption scheme to help people and animals in need. Her needy foster mom takes care of Sandy and receives a monthly pension in return. It is a true win-win situation but very costly for us.
