Cowboy

Name: Cowboy
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 4 years and 6 months
Description:

We rescued a total of 13 dogs from their prison in Hikkaduwa three years ago. Cowboy is one of them. The American owner had left the country and asked a local man to take care of her dogs. He locked the animals in a dark, small room in the house. He didn't even feed them properly. The poor dogs lived like this for months - in the middle of their own faeces!!

When we found out about the terrible situation, we freed the dogs immediately. They were traumatized, emaciated and sick. At the clinic we nursed them back to health and socialized them. We still take care of all 13 dogs today - eventhough we haven't heard from the actual owner for a long time.

It took Cowboy a while to start trusting us. He is still easily scared. As such a shy dog he will never find a home and thus will stay with us at the clinic for the rest of his life.

After everything he has been through, he deserves your support!
Please become Cowboy's sponsor and help him overcome his horrible past.
