What a rollercoaster ride it was for little Diona! We rescued her in July when she was discovered on school grounds with a serious leg injury.

Shortly after being admitted to the DCC, the big shock: Diona had caught the parvovirus! It was a race against time. Diona lost a lot of weight and we feared for her life more than once. But she beat the virus. However, the all-clear was not given at first, because now little Diona also had babesiosis. Once again we had to fight for her, but she also survived this illness.
Throughout this critical time, we continued to treat her serious leg injury every day.
After months of treating the wound, it became clear that we could not save Diona's leg: new infections kept appearing, and it was a constant up and down for Diona. With a heavy heart, we made the decision to amputate the leg. Fortunately, Diona recovered quickly and can now enjoy life without pain.
Isn't she a real fighter?
In the meantime, Diona has found a loving family through our rehoming program, and we’re absolutely thrilled about it!
We’ll be visiting her from time to time to make sure she continues to do well in her new home.
Diona deserves many kind sponsors and we would be delighted if you would support Diona so that we can continue to look after her.
