One of our staff members discovered Louise in the middle of the night on her way home. The poor pit bull was tied to the clinic gate and left there by her heartless owner. Our staff member took in the distressed dog and brought her to the DCC the next morning.
Louise is a gentle and friendly dog, but her past was terrible. She was used as a breeding machine. When she was abandoned, she still was lactating and was cruelly separated from her puppies. They are now growing up without their mother, and surely, sooner or later, they will end up on the streets as well.
The reality for pedigree dogs in Sri Lanka is dreadful, and Louise's story is just one of many.
Louise will stay with us forever and now lives in our volunteer area.
