Otello

Name: Otello
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 12 years and 11 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog for: 11 years and 3 months
Description:

We found Otello on one of our daily field trips.

He was horribly weak and haggard, so our team didn't hesitate to take him to the clinic.

Otello really launched in his food but never gained weight.
After elaborate tests we had to find out that Otello has a pancreas disorder.
By consequent medication and care Otello stabilzed well.
Otello came to us with 8,5 kg - in March 2013 he weighted already 13,7 kg and was top fit - but only because of permanent medication and "just" his monthly Pancrex dose is a 60 Euro...

And because of his sickness Otello was never conveyed in our ReHome Program - So we gave him a place in one of our external packs at one of our staff members and continued to provide him food and (medical) care. In exchange for a wall built around his compound the staff member promised to give Otello and two "colleagues" a home for life.....

...sadly he didn't keep his promise - shortly after he had left the DCC he returned Samira, Otello and Collien. Now, we have to finance Otello a DCC 50+ Place on top of his monthly enzyme dose.

Luckily, we were able to find him a place together with Samira and Collien but we have to visit everyday to make sure Otello receives his life saving medicine.

Like this, we were able to give him many happy years until he sadly passed in October 2020. Run free, beloved Otello. We will never forget you!
