The year 2025 is once again putting the Dog Care Clinic to a hard test: On the night of October 23, 2025, a severe storm swept across southern Sri Lanka, causing extensive damage to our facility. Several roofs of the dog houses were torn off or collapsed, a huge palm tree fell onto one of the buildings, and even the new roof – still under construction and not yet fully paid for – was severely damaged.
Our clinic was hit particularly hard: parts of the roof collapsed onto the operating tables, making it impossible to perform surgeries at the moment. A special emergency team has been set up to handle urgent cases.
Fortunately, no animals or people were injured – and for that, we are endlessly grateful. However, the financial impact is serious: repairs and reconstruction will cost around €20,000.
We know that we have had to ask for support several times over the past months, but this time we truly cannot manage without help. We have therefore set up a GoFundMe campaign. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us repair the damage and provide our dogs with safe shelters and proper medical care.
Thank you to everyone who stands by us during this difficult time!
