Elina

Name: Elina
Breed: Mix
Gender: Female
Age: ca 1 year and 7 months
Neutered/Spayed: No
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 1 year and 2 months
Description:

Elina was only six months old when she was found badly injured by the side of the road. Her right hind leg was shattered – a tiny body full of pain, all alone and abandoned on the street, left to die. Without help, she wouldn't have stood a chance.

But Elina was incredibly lucky: a kind-hearted local brought her into our care. At the DCC, she immediately received medical attention and loving care. For Elina, this meant survival – even though her little leg couldn't be saved.

She will live the rest of her life on three legs. And since dogs with disabilities are often seen as "worthless" by the local population, Elina will stay with us forever – safe, loved, and cared for.

Every day in Sri Lanka, countless puppies suffer the same fate – unwanted, abandoned, injured, and forgotten. Many die alone and in agony.

We fight tirelessly to stop this suffering – 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
But we can't do it alone.
