fter a dog bite, Ellen's neck swelled up alarmingly, and a foreign woman took her straight to a local vet to help the little puppy. The 'vet' gave her not just one or two, but three strong antibiotics at once. Poor Ellen was completely overdosed.
The rescuer contacted us in desperation, and we took Ellen in. We were able to stabilize her condition, but we have to expect that the incorrect treatment may have caused long-term damage. Due to the attack of the other dog Ellen now also has a permanent walking disability.
As sad as it is, the vast majority of veterinarians in Sri Lanka should no longer be allowed to practice. It's unbelievable what these innocent dogs have to go through...
