Mouni

Name: Mouni
Breed: Mix
Gender: Female
Age: ca 1 year and 5 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 1 year and 7 months
Description:

Life for street puppies is tough. They suffer accidents and cannot protect themselves from diseases. They don't get help. Most of the time, they are ignored. Mouni was lucky in misfortune, because she was brought by a passerby - but only days after her accident. Her wounds were heavily infected. Her front leg was broken and she must have been dragging it around dangling long enough to expose the bone. It must have been excruciating pain.

Mouni was so weak that we had to stabilize and feed her for a few days before the leg could be amputated. It was an incredible release for her. Already on the day of the major surgery she stood happily on her three little legs and ate her food.

As a handicapped dog, Mouni will always need our help and so we placed her through our DCC 50+ program. Like this she has found a loving home with a poor family. The family receives a monthly pension for taking care of Mouni and we visit her every month. It is a true win-win situation.
