Puppy was abandoned because of his disability. Due to a serious accident we had to amputate his front leg. Although the surgery as well as the aftercare were completely free of charge for the owner, he did not pick up his dog after recovery. Our calls were ignored and Puppy was left behind.
Unfortunately, this happens again and again because disabled dogs are worthless in the eyes of most Sri Lankans.
WE have not rejected Puppy but have given him a life in security.
In July 2021, Puppy got adopted through our social adoption scheme DCC 50+. Together with Maybe, he now lives with an elder poor lady who loves dogs very much. We pay her a monthly pension in return for taking care of the dogs. This is how we help animals AND people.
