This poor stray had probably been wandering the streets injured and disabled for a long time. We discovered him when our Field Clinic team was catching dogs for neutering.
We named him Rolf and it was clear that his stump would never heal properly. We had to amputate. But it was also clear that poor Rolf wasn't strong enough yet. Who knows what happened to him on the street, how he lost half his leg and how he then struggled along. It certainly wasn't easy. Rolf was severely malnourished and weak.
We rehabilitated him over two weeks and then he could be operated on. As a disabled dog, he will stay with us forever and so we are very happy to have sponsors for our dear Rolf!
