Stray Mom
Name: | Stray Mom |
Breed: | Mix |
Gender: | Female |
Neutered/Spayed: | Yes |
Vaccinated: | Yes |
DCC dog since: | 7 years and 6 months |
Our clinic received an emergeny call: a builder had found a bitch with six newborn puppies on his construction site. The teat of the mother were hardend and infected so she was not able to suckle her offspring.
As there was no time to lose our team immediately went to rescue the dogs. The mother seemed quite afraid and exhausted sitting next to her puppies who were lying on the dusty ground. Under these circumstances the family had no chance to survive and so we took all seven dogs with us.
With massages and hot-water bottles we took care of "Stray Mom". With a weight of less than 500 grams the little ones had to be hand-fed. Puppy care is a true 24 hours job and more than once we were fearing for their lives. Thanks to the great commitment by our team we were able to save five of the six puppies. The sixth puppy, unfortunately, was to weak.
Stray Mom developed nicely and soon was able to frolic with her kids. Our five little cuties have become fluffy fur balls and are very active. We named them Thunder, Rain, Cloud, Storm and Lighning and were able to find good <link 26#360 - internal-link "Opens internal link in current window">ReHome place</link>s for them.
Also Stray Mom got lucky as one of our volunteers took her in. So, she is still in the DCC family and we will - whenever necessary - provide medical care for her.
Since we will care for the whole family throughout their entire lives we heavily rely on your support!
