This black Shepherd dog spent all his life in a cage behind iron bars - without love, care or affection. He was kept as an alarm system and had to bark whenever somebody entered the property.
When our partner organization Embark was informed about this poor soul, they asked us for help. Despite the overcrowded clinic, we took in the suffering dog. We had named him Brayan. During the first weeks, he was extremely insecure and growled and barked at us whenever we came close. But who could blame him? He had never felt the gentle touch of a human hand, and he had never been spoken to kindly.
For weeks, we treated his physical and emotional wounds. However, since he was very susceptible to illnesses, we continued to care for him, of course.
In December 2025, we sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved Brayan. He was 10 years old, and we are so happy that he was able to live the last years of his life in love and respect at the DCC.
