One of our mobile rescue teams found Dany at the nearby Mihiripenna temple where she had been dumpedas a small puppy.
We took the little one in, dewormed and vaccinated her. We nursed her up until she was old enough for our rehome program but sadly nobody was interested in her. Brown female dogs are not very popular in Sri Lanka.
Since Dany loved human company we put her in our DCC 50+ program, the social program for humans and animals. Thanks to the DCC 50+ program the family received a monthly pension by the clinic. For them, this was a very important (additional) income. Of course we continued our medical care for Dany free of charge.
Dany passed away at the end of January at the age of 10 due to acute heart failure. We will never forget Dany and are grateful that she was able to live so many wonderful years with her DCC50+ family.
