Erwin was only 7 weeks old when he and his siblings were simply abandoned on the street in front of our garage. Despite having very limited space, we took the little ones in immediately and cared for them with all our hearts.
We fought for the little ones; sadly, for one sibling all help came too late. Fortunately, all the others could be saved and found wonderful homes. Erwin, too, had found a great rehoming place, and we were all so happy for him. Unfortunately, the happiness didn’t last long—the people no longer wanted Erwin! We were stunned and, of course, picked him up again immediately. From 2020 on, Erwin lived once more at the DCC.
After a long life at the DCC, we sadly had to say goodbye to Erwin in January 2026. He succumbed to acute kidney failure and no longer responded to medication. We are very saddened by the loss of our long-time favorite.
