Like for most dogs Katu's DCC life began when he was still a puppy. We found him in front of our clinic.
Even as a puppy he suffered from skin problems and since he was taken from his mother much too early, his immune system could not develop properly. After a successful adoption, he had to be hospitalized again and again. Because his dog was "too ill" for him, his foster father finally gave Katu back and we took him back permanently.
But Katu loved the contact with people and since space on our clinic premises is limited, we decided to place Katu through our DCC 50+ program. He came to a family who have been caring for DCC dogs for many years and who also know how to deal with his skin problems. The family is very needy and we paid a monthly pension so that not only Katu is well taken care of, but also his poor foster mom.
After many wonderful years in his 50+ family, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Katu in October 2025. We will miss him dearly.
