Yes, this was a German Shepherd Dog! It was the third German Shepherd we rescued within three days back in July 2021. Incredible, right? The pictures in the gallery actually speak for themselves: chained, caged, sick, emaciated, unloved and neglected ... unfortunately not an isolated case!
Luckily, a neighbor showed courage and informed us about this poor guy. She told us the owner no longer took care of her dog because she was pregnant. We are lost for words. Of course we took the poor guy with us. We have named him Romeo and were doing our best to nurse him back to health. However, we had to expect that the organs are already damaged by neglect.
Despite everything, Romeo was still able to spend a wonderful 4 years at the DCC, loved by all the staff and his dog friends. Sadly, we now hat so say goodbye to Romeo, and we are deeply saddened by this.
