Shakthi's fate already seemed sealed. As a disabled puppy, she would have had no chance on the streets of Sri Lanka.
However, her life took a sudden turn when she was discovered by two animal-loving tourists. Unlike many other tourists, they did not ignore the little dog but took action. They got in touch with us and so little Shakthi came to DCC.
She receives everything she needs from us: nutritious food, physiotherapy and lots of love. With every dog we take in, we also make a promise: that we will look after them for the rest of their lives!
Sadly, Shakthi contracted the dangerous distemper virus at the end of December 2024 and lost the fight against the serious illness.
Shakthi, we would have loved to give you many happy years in the DCC.
