We discovered Lani on one of our field missions and brought her to the clinic for a check-up. Blood tests showed that the stray dog had babesiosis. If left untreated, this disease is usually fatal.
The deformed front legs of Lani are immediately noticeable. These are due to a calcium deficiency. For sure this handicap originates from Lani's puppyhood.
As she is a handicapped dog, it is difficult for her to stand her ground on the street, so we did not put her back on the street after her treatment was completed. Lani is now a happy DCC dog who can live a carefree life on our clinic grounds.
For us, caring for any dog comes at a cost, so we would be very happy if Lani found a sponsor in you.
