When Suddi came to us, we were heartbroken. The poor dog was not only severely emaciated, but also had a badly injured front paw. The bones were exposed and the wound was clearly not fresh. Suddi's owner must have simply stood idly by for a long period of time as her dog agonized in incredible pain. Sadly, many owner dogs in Sri Lanka are just as badly off as the street dogs.
The paw could no longer be saved and so we had to amputate the front leg. Suddi survived the major operation well and was able to regain her strength under our care. We did not send Suddi back to her horrible home, but kept her with us on the clinic grounds.
Suddi is now one of our residents and is hoping for lots of kind sponsors.
