Barnaby

Name: Barnaby
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 1 year and 9 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 1 year and 2 months
Description:

One morning, the team at the Dog Care Clinic discovered a new arrival on the clinic grounds: Barnaby, an approximately eight-month-old male dog, stood frightened and alone in a corner. How he got there remains a mystery to this day, as the premises are closed off and surrounded by high walls and fences. Sadly, it is presumed that he was secretly thrown over the wall under the cover of darkness – abandoned by a heartless owner who no longer wanted him. Barnaby was incredibly lucky not to have been injured in the process!

Unfortunately Barnaby was already considered "too old" for adoption in Sri Lanka, as local families typically only take in very young puppies. This made his chances of finding a loving home extremely slim.

But Barnaby should never have to experience again what it means to be unwanted. That is why we have welcomed him into our DCC50+ program – as one of our protégés, to whom we want to provide a safe and dignified life. In the DCC50+ program, we place dogs with elderly or disabled people in need. Our DCC50+ partners receive a monthly pension, while we continue to cover the dogs’ medical care free of charge.

What Barnaby still needs now are people who will stand by him and his new family – by becoming sponsors. With your support, you help secure Barnaby’s medical care and give him a life of safety, security, and freedom from fear in his new DCC50+ home.

Would you like to become Barnaby’s sponsor and accompany him on his journey?
