Bugsy and her siblings were extremely frightened when we found them close to the clinic. Somebody had dumped them on the road.
Like many dogs these puppies, too, had babesiosis ('dog malaria') - a wide-spread disease which is fatal if not treated in time.
We were able to rescue the siblings and build up their self-confidence. However, Bugsy's recovery took so long she became "too old" for our rehome program as only puppies get adopted in Sri Lanka.
Bugsy is now another <link 89#1175 - internal-link "Opens internal link in current window">resident</link> and will most likely remain for the rest of her life in the Dog Care Clinic.
We want to provide for our dogs the best we can.
