Like so many dogs, Feela's DCC life began when we found her on the street with her siblings. We brought the puppies to safety and took care of them. Unfortunately, they fell seriously ill after a few days and only Feela survived the virus infection. As a female, she had poor chances of being adopted, so in the end we put her in our DCC 50+ program. We urgently needed the space in the clinic for new patients.
Feela now lives with a caring but very poor family. We support the family with a monthly pension. This ensures that Feela is well looked after and the needy locals have a little "extra" for themselves. With our DCC50+ program, we combine animal welfare with humanitarian aid, because in a country like Sri Lanka, you can't have one without the other.
