Amoula had an owner who never bothered to have his dog sterilized. When she had three puppies, it quickly became too much of a nuisance for him and one evening he took the whole family to the Dog Care Clinic. He angrily explained that he no longer wanted the dogs and would throw them into the jungle if we didn't take them. What else could we do but take the family in?
Amoula was extremely frightened.
She must have experienced terrible things and it took some time for her to trust us. We looked after her and her puppies. When the puppies were old enough, we were able to spay Amoula. But what then? As a fearful dog and former pet, we couldn't just put her out on the street. Unfortunately, she didn't feel at home in our clinic among all the other dogs. So our only option was to place her through our DCC 50+ program. Here Amoula found a great home with a local family. The family is very poor and the adults have no regular income. We pay them a monthly pension for Amoula's care. This helps both people and animals!
We visit Amoula every month to make sure that she is doing well. With your sponsorship you enable us to visit and treat Amoula should she fall ill.
