As a little puppy, Lill was abandoned with her sister late one evening in front of our clinic. At the time, they were about seven weeks old and likely the babies of an unspayed owner dog. We raised both of them and were overjoyed when they were adopted one after the other. However, Lill's happiness didn't last long. She was returned after a short time because the family found her "too demanding."
Lill grew older and never found a new family. As a brown female dog, she was considered not valuable in the eyes of many. Due to a lack of space at the clinic, we eventually placed Lill into our DCC 50+ program. There, she found a wonderful home with an elderly lady in need. Lill is well cared for, and we support the woman with a monthly allowance. A true win-win situation. Of course, we visit Lill every month to ensure that she is doing well.
