Lily was abandoned with a wound on her leg in front of the gates of our clinic. Once again, we asked ourselves: why? Everyone receives help from us! For people in need, the treatment of their animals is even provided free of charge. We cannot understand why anyone would expose their pet to such danger.
Apart from the wound on her leg, Lily’s state of health was fortunately good. We treated the wound and began searching for a new, loving home for her. Unfortunately, no one showed interest in the pretty female dog. Female dogs with brown coats unfortunately have little chance of being adopted here. As the clinic was bursting at the seams, we decided to include Lily in our DCC50+ program. This is our unique social program in which local seniors in need take in one of our dogs and, in return, receive a small monthly pension from us. In this way, we create space in the clinic, the dogs find a loving home, and they also serve as ambassadors for healthy human–dog relationships. Of course, we also cover all costs for Lily’s medical care – for the rest of her life.
To be able to permanently finance Lily’s place in the DCC50+ program, we are still looking for sponsors who would like to support and accompany Lily on her journey.
