Little was only two years old, but already at the end of her strength when we rescued her from the merciless streets of Sri Lanka. She was suffering from advanced demodicosis and babesiosis, and was severely malnourished.
It was a tough battle, but we helped her get back on her feet!
In the clinic, Little had problems getting along with the other dogs, so we tried to place her in the small pack at our volunteer house. However, she still didn’t feel comfortable there. Eventually, we had no choice but to place Little in our DCC 50+ Program. Here, she has now found a wonderful home with a family that cares for her with love. Since the family is in great need, we pay them a monthly allowance to support Little’s care. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, but, of course, it comes with costs.
