This trusting dog was only three years old and must have already had the worst life. We discovered her one morning near the clinic after she had simply been abandoned there. Every bone in her emaciated body was clearly visible and she was too weak to rise from her own puddle of urine.
We carried her to the clinic. It's only a few meters, but the cruel people who wanted to get rid of her didn't bother to bring her to us.
We gave her the name Tumi and her second life began. Within three weeks she had put on almost 2.5 kg and gained strength. After five weeks of intensive treatment, she was healthy again.
We take in patients like Tumi every day and barely have enough space to care for them. The biggest problem is that not all dogs can be released once their treatment is complete. Many of them can't cope on the street, have chronic diseases or have been with us for so long that they can't return to the street. Through our DCC50+ program, Tumi has found a loving home with a senior lady, who in return for adopting her receives a small monthly pension from us. Of course, we visit Tumi regularly to ensure that she is well cared for, allowed to roam freely, and stays healthy. Moreover, we also cover all of her medical care – for the rest of her life.
So that Tumi can live in safety and security forever, we rely on people who open their hearts to dogs like her.
Would you like to walk part of the way with Tumi? Then become her sponsor! Every contribution helps – and Tumi would be so grateful for your support.
