This dog must have had an owner. Probably someone that liked to show off his mix breed pet. This poor dog even had is tail docked for show but then one day, it was probably too costly to keep him for show and so once he got sick and the vet bills increased, the awful owner just left him on the street.
When our neighbours saw our tuktuk going out for our daily feeding tour, they immediately told us about this new dog in the area. We were horrified at the sight of this poor dog! A huge maggot wound on his back, hair loss and hundreds of ticks all over his body. The poor thing was so distressed and in pain, we took him straight to the clinic and started removing all the parasites eating out of his poor debilitated body. He obviously had tick fever, he also suffered from mange and we removed dozen of maggots from his wound.
It took weeks for Woody to get back on his feet.
In the meantime, Woody has found a new home through our DCC50+ program. He now lives with elderly locals in need, who in return for caring for Woody receive a small monthly pension from us. We visit Woody regularly to check whether he is well cared for, allowed to roam freely, and in good health. Of course, we also continue to provide for his medical care and cover all related costs.
Woody would be very happy if you took on a sponsorship for him, giving him a life of safety and security.
Would you like to make Woody happy and become his sponsor?
