It was a special moment when Emma lay down during the midday feeding to give birth to her calf. The birth went without complications and a little calf saw the light of day. We named her Resi. She and her mum Emma are now one of the few lucky cows in Sri Lanka who are not separated from each other. Cattle are extremely social animals and the bond between mother and child lasts a lifetime.
