Carlo was brought to us by two participants of our "air courier program"...
...but sadly the two missed to install a running sponsorship for their "holiday darling".
So we hoped we could integrate Carlo in one of our external packs, for a <link 26 _blank internal-link "The DCC ReHome Project">DCC ReHome</link> was practically impossible for a dog of his "age" - but Carlo suffered of a glaucoma.
He had to undergo surgery and we provided all the necessary after-care which his very time-consuming and costly. Carlo rode his surgery well but as a disabled dog people have no interest in him and so we gave him place at the <link 50 _blank internal-link "All about the DCC 50 +">DCC 50+</link>, the social project to help animals and people.
But sadly we had to find out on one of our frequent checks, that his foster family concealed a huge burn wound. Of course we took Carlo with us immediately and this family will never ever get a dog from us again.
We nursed Carlo back to health and were lucky to find a really good new family for him.
After many happy years, Carlo sadly caught a really bad virus and died in March 2022. Rest in peace, beloved friend.
