Pedigree dogs face a hard life all too often. As puppies they are bought as status symbols but many owners are unable to care for their special needs.
This is what happened to Thoran who was admitted in pitiful condition. He had severe skin issues and numerous wounds.
After receiving successful treatment, he was adopted by one of our staff members. With her, he was able to live a happy and healthy life.
Or so we thought!
But then his original owner, a Buddhist monk, saw Thoran on Facebook and demanded his return. Unfortunately, we had no legal grounds to keep him, and we had to watch helplessly as he was taken from us.
Of course, we continued to keep a close eye on him and ensured he received proper medical care.
This way, Thoran was still able to live a beautiful and safe life.
In September 2025, he was brought back to us with a severe case of babesiosis. Sadly, he no longer responded to the medication, and with heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye to Thoran.
