As a street dog, Toffee lived near the local hospital. There he fed on the patients' leftover food. It was a difficult life and it even got worse: Toffee had an accident, but no one helped him. It was weeks before we were at least informed about him. In the meantime, his injured paw got badly infected. We tried to save it, but in the end the only option was an amputation.
Since Toffee's musculature in the remaining hind leg had been weakened, we helped him for weeks with physiotherapy to get back on his feet.
Over the years, Toffee had completely recovered from his difficult past during his time at DCC.
At the ripe old age of 16, our senior Toffee passed away in March 2026. We miss you so much, Toffee!
