Akeem

Name: Akeem
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 8 years
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 3 years and 9 months
Description:

It is very likely that Akeem once had a home. However, the country’s difficult economic situation eventually led his owner to abandon him on the streets. For a former family dog, survival there was nearly impossible – especially since Akeem was also suffering from a severe fungal infection and was extremely emaciated. It was clear that he had already been neglected for a long time in his previous home.

We took Akeem in to provide him with lasting protection and safety. Thanks to his sponsors, we were able to place him through our DCC50+ program in a loving home with a poor local family.

Over the years, Akeem returned to our clinic several times for minor treatments. After his last stay, he was attacked by the family’s other dogs shortly after his return. We therefore decided to take Akeem back permanently. Due to his chronic skin condition and his age, it is very unlikely that he will ever find another home of his own. For this reason, he has been integrated into one of the packs on the DCC grounds, where he will now remain for the rest of his life.
