One of our volunteers spotted these dogs on the street. We don't even want to imagine what they had been through...
Both were emaciated to the bone and tested positive for sarcoptic mange. Mother Luana also had babesiosis. Baby Lilli did not get enough milk as a very small puppy and therefore had very poor blood values. Her mother's blood report was also more than worrying. They would certainly not have survived much longer on the street.
Both did really well under our care and just when we thought they would make a full recovery the unexpected happened: Lilli tested positive for parvo. Despite immediate treatment we couldn't save her. Lilli passed and left a grieving mother. Luana lost her beloved daughter. We are now there for Luana and are helping her through this difficult time.
