Blacky

Name: Blacky
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 3 years and 2 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 2 years and 2 months
Description:

Blacky was barely a year old and was already suffering unimaginable pain. And no, Blacky is not a stray who was picked up on the street somewhere. Blacky has an owner! An owner who unfortunately once again let far too much time pass before coming to us with his dog.

We do not know how and where the young dog sustained his serious injuries. However, it is obvious that the injuries are older. In addition to the serious eye trauma, Blacky also has a deep wound on his left hind leg and several smaller wounds. Unfortunately, Blacky's eye could no longer be saved and had to be removed, the wound on his hind leg was cleaned and stitched.

After daily administration of antibiotics, painkillers and lots of love, Blacky has recovered well from his ordeal and is now out of the woods. He would actually be ready to be discharged, but his owner doesn't want him back. As a disabled dog, he is now worthless in the eyes of his owner.

This is certainly better for Blacky, because he doesn't deserve such a horrible home. We’ve found a wonderful place for Blacky in our 50+ program, where he feels very comfortable, is treated with love, and is regularly visited by us and given medical care when needed.
