This is the harrowing reality of countless owner dogs in Sri Lanka!
As young dogs, they are tied up in the garden with chains, old cables and rusty wires. The dogs grow, but their chains are not adjusted. The result: the chains cause the worst neck injuries. In the end, the animals suffocate in agony or are eaten alive by countless maggots. The owners look on completely unconcerned and even in the end do not understand that this is all their fault.
Blake was very lucky because the neighbor reported the dog to us via WhatsApp.
We rescued him from his horror home and surgically removed the deeply ingrown tangle of chain and cable. Blake was very trusting right from the start and loved to be petted. Once his wound had healed, we therefore decided to place him in our DCC 50+ program. He now lives with a family in need who look after him lovingly. The poor family receives a monthly pension from us for Blake's care. This helps both people and animals! But of course this involves extra costs for us. Not only the monthly pension has to be financed, but also our monthly check-up visits.
Blake is therefore particularly happy about kind sponsors!
