Gallo

Name: Gallo
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 8 years and 7 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 3 years and 7 months
Description:

Gallo was one of millions of street dogs in Sri Lanka. We discovered him on our feeding tour. The poor guy was emaciated to the bone and desperately needed help.

We brought him to us in the clinic and performed extensive examinations. It turned out that Gallo was sick with babesiosis. If left untreated, this disease usually leads to death. But Gallo now had a good chance of survival and after three weeks of daily treatment he was healthy again.
He obviously did not do well on the street and so we did not want to take him back there. At the same time, as an adult dog, he had no chance of being adopted. So, in the end, our only option was to place him in our DCC 50+ program. Here he found a loving home with a family in need. They take care of Gallo and we pay them a monthly pension for this. Of course, this involves high costs for us, but the DCC 50+ program is a real win-win situation: we have space in the clinic for new patients, the family has a steady income and a new friend by their side, and Gallo has found a loving home.

Would you like to support the DCC 50+ program as Gallo's sponsor?
We, Gallo and his family would be very happy about it!
