Hazel was only five days old when she came to us with her wounded mother and 5 siblings.
Under our protection the puppies grew up splendidly. But as a female brown puppy nobody was interested in adopting Hazel and she never found a family. However, due to lack of space, we could not keep her at the clinic permanently either. Eventually, we placed her in our DCC 50+ program. Here we combine animal welfare with humanitarian aid. Hazel lives with a low-income family who receives a monthly pension from us in return for taking in the dog. This way human and animal are taken care of!
With monthly unannounced control visits we make sure that Hazel is doing well.
