Lorna

Name: Lorna
Breed: Mix
Gender: Female
Age: ca 4 years
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 3 years and 10 months
Description:

Lorna was brought to the Dog Care Clinic together with her two siblings by local residents.
There was no trace of their mother, so it quickly became clear that we would take the three puppies into our care and raise them ourselves.

Fortunately, Lorna was in good health, which allowed us to begin the search for a suitable adoptive family early on. Sadly, no one showed interest in the friendly young dog. Over time, she – like so many of our protégés – was considered “too old” to be seen as desirable for adoption in Sri Lanka.

Due to the limited space on our clinic grounds, we decided to include Lorna in our DCC50+ program. This initiative combines animal welfare with social support: hard-to-place dogs find a home with elderly people in need, who in return receive a monthly pension. This creates space for new patients at the clinic while both animals and people benefit – through companionship, care, and financial stability.

In this way, Lorna has found a loving home with a kind and caring family.

However, Lorna is still looking for sponsors to help secure her long-term medical care.
Do you have a heart for Lorna? By becoming a sponsor, you can help her enjoy a safe and well-cared-for life.
