Molly was brought to us by a tourist who had fallen in love with the cute fur ball. She wanted to take Molly with her to Germany and ensured us to handle all of the complicated and very costly procedures on her own. She also told us she would cover all the costs connected with Molly's stay wih us (medicine, food, shelter). Eventhough we don't give dogs for adoption abroad we finally agreed - as the alternative for Molly would have been the streets of Sri Lanka.
With a lot of love we took care of Molly and with her strong character she developed into a beautiful young dog. Time passed and Molly was growing older but her departure got postponed. Unfortunately, the tourist lady didn't walk the talk and Molly was not taken to Germany.
With her cute appearance Molly would have had no problem finding a Rehome family when she was a puppy but as a "young lady" she had become too old to be of interest for the Sri Lankan people. Therefore, we had to put this healthy, non-handicapped, young dog in our 50+ program, the social project for people and animals.

The payments for Molly were done at more and more irregular intervals and finally, were stopped completely. Unfortunately, the "holiday darling" was soon forgotten and now we have to cover additional costs for Molly every month.
For 10 years, despite all the initial challenges, Molly had a wonderful life at the DCC and with her 50+ family. Sadly, she passed away in April 2025 due to acute kidney failure, and we are heartbroken.
Run free, Molly!
