Pitbull Selma was abused for breeding for several years. After she fell seriously ill and sustained severe wounds from being kept chained, she was brought to us. The woman who delivered her claimed to have found the dog. However, we suspect that this was actually the owner, who wanted to get rid of her since she was no longer useful for breeding. Selma’s condition was truly heartbreaking.

She was suffering from demodicosis and babesiosis. Her body was emaciated and marked by secondary infections and a deep wound on her neck, where numerous maggots had already gathered. Her immune system is extremely weakened.
Despite her horrific past, Selma quickly learned to trust. She bravely endured the daily treatments.
But since Selma doesn’t look 'perfect,' she wasn’t adopted by anyone—even though she’s a purebred dog. She couldn’t stay at the clinic because she doesn’t get along well with other dogs. In the end, we had no choice but to place her through our DCC50+ program into loving hands. Selma has now found a wonderful home, the family in need receives financial support from us, and of course, we continue to be there for Selma! We visit her at least once a month and make sure she’s doing well.
