Tony was found on the street by tourists when he was already 9 years old. The harsh realities of street life had clearly taken their toll on him. He was extremely weak, emaciated, suffering from a severe fungal infection, and battling babesiosis – a tick-borne disease that is often fatal if left untreated.

We immediately took Tony in and provided him with months of care to help him regain his strength. His rescuers promised to become his sponsors but in the end, the responsibility was simply handed off at the clinic’s doorstep, leaving us to bear the costs alone. Throughout his time at the DCC, we grew very attached to Tony. Given his age, we couldn't bear the thought of returning him to the streets.
However, due to space limitations, we were unable to provide him with a permanent home at the clinic. So, we decided to place Tony in our DCC50+ program, where he now lives with a loving family. We provide the family with a monthly pension to cover Tony’s care and ensure his well-being. Additionally, we visit the family regularly, making unannounced checks to confirm that Tony is thriving.
We are hopeful that Tony will enjoy many more happy years with his new family.
A sponsorship from you would complete Tony’s happiness, helping us ensure that he continues to live a full and joyful life.
