Guwani's life certainly started on the streets of Sri Lanka. We were informed about her when she was 6 months old. Weak and exhausted, she was found near a Buddhist temple. Countless worshippers had carelessly walked past her. Buddhists who simply ignored the little dog's suffering. When someone finally took pity on Guwani and brought her to us, she was already in a critical condition.
We were fighting for Guwani's life, giving her love, care and the treatment she needed. We very much hoped that she would make it and in fact she pulled through! By the time she was healthy again she was "too old" to be of interest for potential adopters and so Guwani still lives with us at DCC.
