Coconut

Name: Coconut
Breed: Mix
Gender: Male
Age: ca 5 years and 11 months
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
DCC dog since: 1 year and 3 months
Description:

Coconut's sad eyes and battered body speak volumes. Sri Lanka is hell on earth for the animals.

What would have become of him if an animal-loving tourist hadn't brought him to us?

Coconut was suffering from advanced demodicosis and severe swelling in his leg. His body was marked by numerous secondary infections. It took many weeks of intensive care to nurse him back to health.

As space in our clinic is limited, we could not keep him after recovery. But under no circumstances should he return to the streets. So we placed him in our DCC 50+ program. Here he now lives with a needy family who take care of him and in return receive a monthly pension from us - a real win-win situation!

Coconut's rescuer gets two thumbs up from us, because she not only brought Coconut, but also contributed to the treatment costs and took over a partial sponsorship.

Animal welfare can only work together and therefore we are now looking for sponsors who will help us to permanently finance Coconut's DCC 50+ place.
